James heads up Amicus's Criminal Law department. He is also an accredited Court and Police Station Duty Solicitor, and spends much of his day representing the firm's clients in the local magistrates courts. A former barrister, he brings considerable experience and expertise to this role.
David Satchell – Wills, Probate, Tax Planning and Elderly Client Matters
David specialises in private client work helping clients of all ages with Wills and Estate Planning and Administration, tax mitigation, elderly client matters including Lasting Powers of Attorney, applications to the Court of Protection and Care Fees issues. He also advises on the set up and use of trusts.
Brain Wilkes
Brian is a seasoned property and commercial Solicitor, whose experience is as broad as it is deep. Including periods working abroad, his background has encompassed private practice in both residential and development property as well as general commercial work including planning agreements and business sales. Prior to going into practice he held corporate board appointments and headed in-house legal departments in the construction, development and tourism industries.
Neil Scott – Criminal and Regulatory
Neil is a member of our criminal team and specialises in regulatory investigations and defending in prosecutions by the Environment Agency in pollution and waste management cases as well as prosecutions brought by HSE. Neil has over 20 years experience in the local legal market, having previously been Managing Partner at Alms & Young in Taunton and a Partner and member of the Board of Management at Foot Anstey.
Rebecca Heal – Property
Rebecca specialises in commercial and residential property work, helping clients manage their move more smoothly and ensuring the correct documentation is all in place. With many years experience in private practice she has handled public and private sector transactions worth £millions as well as individual house purchase and sales.

Andrew is our senior conveyancing lawyer. Prior to joining Amicus Andrew spent 15 years as a partner with a large Home Counties law firm. He is also a highly skilled wills and probate lawyer.
Sue Gill - Conveyancing
Sue has over 15 years experience in legal practice. She joined Amicus in 2004 and works as a conveyancer in residential property, handling a range of transactions including sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity.
